Additional Scholarships
The Florida State Association of Supervisors of Elections (FSASE) is awarding one $1,200 scholarship to a Florida student. Eligible students must be a junior or senior enrolled at an accredited Florida college or university majoring in political science/public or business administration or journalism/mass communications. The guidelines and application for the FSASE scholarship may be picked up at Indian River State College, Mueller Campus, (at the welcome desk in Building D), or the Supervisor of Elections office. The guidelines and application are also available on the Supervisor of Election’s website: www.voteindianriver.com. Completed applications must be received in the Supervisor of Elections office by March 18, 2012.
The
GM Women’s Retail Network has established a scholarship program to encourage women to pursue a career in automotive retail. The program is open to women enrolled in undergraduate, graduate or non-traditional educational programs in automotive retail areas; or who are currently employed in an automotive dealership and enrolled in an educational program that advances their career within automotive retail. Florida Alpha Delta Kappa is an active part of an International Honorary Organization for Women Educators. The Past State Presidents of Florida Alpha Delta Kappa are proud to offer a $1000.00 scholarship in the spring of 2012 to a female student attending a Florida community college or a four-year Florida University. The student must be pursuing an undergraduate/graduate degree in education and must maintain an overall 3.0 or higher grade point average. All sections of the
applicationmust be typed or hand printed using only black ink. Included with the application must be two letters of recommendation: one from a professor, instructor or advisor at the college/university or a member of Florida Alpha Delta Kappa and the other a personal reference of applicant’s choice. Also included must be a current, official university, state or community college transcript. Florida Education Association offers the Education Staff Professional Scholarship Program to provide incentive and financial support in the form of scholarships to ESP members who are pursuing additional academic training needed to obtain necessary skills and/or credentials required for promotion or advancement in the field of public education. Any ESP member who has been a member in good standing in an FEA affiliated local for at least three years shall be eligible to apply. Each scholarship is worth $1,000 each awarded. The Florida statewide
Para-to-Teacher Support Program continues to provide tuition support and textbook stipends for paraprofessionals pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Exceptional Student Education. The program provides full tuition for two courses per semester and a stipend for each course to help defray text expenses. Funding for the 2011-2012 grant year allows us to maintain our current cadre of 45 students. As students graduate this fall and coming spring vacancies will be filled with new candidates from among Florida's brightest and best paraprofessionals. Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties Scholarship Program is now accepting applications. The online application is available at

The Home Depot Trade Scholarship Program. The Home Depot® established its first-ever Trade Scholarship Program.
