College Scholarship Opportunity for 9th Grade Students
 

TSIC Scholarships are awarded to Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee, and St. Lucie County  public school students in ninth grade who meet federal poverty guidelines as proven by family financial documents. Selected students are required to maintain good grades, behavior and attendance, remain drug and crime free, and graduate from high school. Parents must agree to support the educational goals of the student, allow students to meet with a volunteer mentor, and maintain good communication with the TSIC staff. More Information

The application period for the Take Stock in Children Program for the 2020-2021 school year is November 1, 2020 until January 8, 2021.

Please have the following documents available when beginning the application:

  • 2019 1040 Tax Return (pages 1 & 2 - must show student as dependent)
  • Student Social Security Number (SSN) Card
  • 2020-2021 Report Card showing grades for 1st quarter or 1st semester
If you are unable to locate your taxes, go to https://www.irs.gov/ and “Get Your Tax Record.”  DO NOT UPLOAD the following documents as they will not be accepted: Employer provided W-2 forms, check stubs, and/or bank statements.

Take Stock in Children is a comprehensive program that helps at-risk, low-income children succeed by providing college scholarships, volunteer mentors, student advocates/case managers, early intervention, and long-term support. High standards, parental involvement, and community support are crucial to the program's success.

Take Stock in Children Supports Students

The Indian River State College Foundation is the lead agency for Indian River, Martin, St. Lucie and Okeechobee counties. In the past 20 years, the IRSC Foundation has changed the lives of more than 1,091 young people along the Treasure Coast. Partnerships with local school districts, the Florida Prepaid Foundation, and countless businesses and individuals have led to tremendous success.
