Lifelong Learning

Fielden Institute Endowment Fund
Now in our seventh year of programming, the Fielden Institute continues its $1 million goal toward self sustainability with an Endowment Campaign currently underway. Thank you for supporting the endowment now at 95% of our goal. There are a variety of ways which you could support the program. If you are interested in supporting the Endowment Fund, please give a gift now online or contact: Ann Decker, IRSC Foundation Executive Director at or phone 772-462-4786.
The Fielden Institute for Lifelong Learning at IRSC is a peer driven membership program designed specifically for men and women age 50 and better. Offerings provide members the opportunity to learn, simply for the joy of learning. There are no tests, no grades, no pre-requisites and no college credit given. Members come together to share ideas and points of view in a social and intellectual spirit. Members serve as both "teacher" and "student." An annual membership fee is $50 or a lifetime membership fee is $365. A wide variety of non-credit programs will be open for registration by phone, mail or online beginning in September.
Why Become a Lifetime Member?
This year, we launch an appeal to join the Fielden Institute as a Lifetime Member. As a Lifetime Member, your $365 gift to the Endowment Fund provides you with among other benefits the opportunity to participate in all of our non-series programs with no additional registration fees. Please see the Frequently Asked Questions page.
We are also happy to come and speak to your group or organization about the Lifelong Learning Institute's programs. To schedule one of our LLI ambassadors, please contact us. For more nformation, visit the Fielden Institute For Lifelong Learning website.

The Fielden Institute for Lifelong Learning was endowed by Dr. Jean Dickinson Fielden in memory of her late husband, Dr. John "Jack” Seward Fielden. Jack received degrees from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Harvard University and Boston University. Except for serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II, he spent his life in academia, as a member of the faculty at the University of Illinois, Purdue, and Harvard, and Dean of the Business School at Boston University and the University of Alabama, where he met Jean. Both Jean and Jack were active in the Institute since its establishment in 2006, serving on the External Advisory Committee and facilitating classes. Jean currently serves on the Advisory Committee and leads one of the Institute’s most popular offerings, Novels and their Film Adaptations in Vero Beach and Ft. Pierce.
