Agnes Peebles Memorial Scholarship Program is awarding a four-year university scholarship to a female Indian River County high school graduate. The student does not have to be a recent high school graduate. For more information, click here. Deadline for receipt of the application is March 20.
 
AXA Achievement Scholarship provides over $1.4 million in scholarships to young people throughout the nation. Eligible applicants must be United States citizens or legal residents living or claiming residency in one of the 50 United States, Washington, D.C. or Puerto Rico, be current high school seniors who plan to enroll full-time in an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the United States for the entire 2016-2017 academic year, and demonstrate ambition and self-drive as evidenced by outstanding achievement in school, community or work-related activities. The Barry Goldwater Scholarship was established by Congress in 1986 to serve as a living memorial to honor the lifetime work of Senator Barry Goldwater, who served his country for 56 years as a soldier and statesman, including 30 years in the U.S. Senate. By providing scholarships to college sophomores and juniors who intend to pursue research careers in the natural sciences, mathematics and engineering, the Goldwater Foundation is helping ensure that the U.S. is producing the number of highly-qualified professionals the Nation needs in these critical fields. Clay Ford Minority Scholarship for 5th Year Accounting Students: To encourage students to remain in school for the fifth year required to obtain a CPA license, a fifth-year minority scholarship program has been established, setting aside $200,000 per year in scholarships. If requirements are met and money is available, applicants may be eligible for scholarships from $3,000 to $6,000 per semester, which are awarded for a maximum of two semesters.For more information, click here.
 
Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, an educational and youth leadership development organization, has launched a national campaign to recruit Hispanic students - undergraduate and graduate- for its nationally recognized youth development leadership programs. Opportunities include internships, fellowships and scholarships. To be eligible, all program applicants must be U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents, be a graduate or undergraduate student with a 3.0 GPA, have remarkable leadership potential, and have demonstrated a vast history and commitment to community and public service. Deadlines vary. Visit http://www.chci.org/  to submit an online application.
 
Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FiCPA) will be awarding over $160,000 in financial aid to Florida accounting students this year . For more information, click here.  The deadline for receipt of the application is in March.
 
Florida State Association of Supervisors of Elections (FSASE) will be awarding three $1,200.00 scholarships in 2018. Applicants must be either a Political Science, Public or Business Administration, or Journalism/Mass Communications major. Horatio Alger Association National Career & Technical Scholarship Program is awarding scholarships for students who are pursuing a degree or certificate in career or technical education. Deadline to apply is June 15. Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Transfer Scholarship is for sophomores planning to enroll in a baccalaureate program next year. Eligible applicants must demonstrate the potential to make a significant contribution to a field of study and/or society. Students must also have a 3.5 or higher GPA, and significant unmet financial need. This competitive scholarship award can total up to $30,000 annually! Lions Club of Sebastian is awarding a $1,500 scholarship to a student pursuing a degree who has already completed one or more years of college.   The student or parent must be a resident of Sebastian.The application can be downloaded here. Perfect Plants Nursery Scholarship: Applicants must be an incoming freshman, sophomore, junior or senior enrolled full or part time into a course of study at a community/state college or university leading to a career in the horticultural industry. Treasure Coast Chapter of the Florida Engineering Society (FES) awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors who have a genuine interest in engineering and community service. To be eligible, a candidate must intend to earn a degree in engineering and to enter the practice of engineering after graduation, have at least a 3.0 grade point average based on a 4.0 scale, be a resident of Highlands, Martin, Okeechobee or St. Lucie County, and will be in a position to accept the scholarship in the school year for which it is being awarded.  Scholarships are paid directly to the student and are typically presented during the April FES Treasure Coast Chapter Meeting.
