Soroptomist International awards two types of scholarships specifically for women: Live Your Dream Award and Women in Transition Award. Applications for the Live Your Dream Award are due by November 15 and applications for the Women in Transition Award are accepted between December 15 and February 15.

The Housing Authority of the City of Fort Pierce is awarding up to $14,000 in Spencer Gilbert Annual Educational Scholarships to students in FPHA’s Public Housing, Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program or its Affordable Housing Program. The Horatio Alger Association National Career & Technical Scholarship Program is awarding scholarships for students who are pursuing a degree or certificate in career or technical education. For more information, click here. IRSC Libraries are having a Research Competition to recognize students who demonstrate excellent research skills. They will award scholarships in the amount of $500, $250, and $100 for the top three research projects submitted. The contest is open to all currently enrolled undergraduate IRSC students. The Treasure Coast Chapter of the Florida Engineering Society (FES) will award three (3) scholarships to graduating high school seniors who have a genuine interest in engineering and community service: The John E. Donahue, P.E.; Walter B. England III, P.E.; and Ray H. White, Jr., P.E. Memorial Scholarships. To be eligible, a candidate must intend to earn a degree in engineering and to enter the practice of engineering after graduation, have at least a 3.0 grade point average based on a 4.0 scale, be a resident of Highlands, Martin, Okeechobee or St. Lucie County, and will be in a position to accept the scholarship in the school year for which it is being awarded.  Scholarships are paid directly to the student and are typically presented during the April FES Treasure Coast Chapter Meeting. The Agnes Peebles Memorial Scholarship Program is awarding a four-year university scholarship to a female Indian River County high school graduate. The student does not have to be a recent high school graduate. For more information, click here. Deadline for receipt of the application is March 15.
The Florida State Association of Supervisors of Elections (FSASE) will be awarding three $1,200.00 scholarships in 2018. Applicants must be either a Political Science, Public or Business Administration, or Journalism/Mass Communications major. For more information, click here. Deadline to apply is March 29, 2018.
The AXA Achievement Scholarship provides over $1.4 million in scholarships to young people throughout the nation. Eligible applicants must be United States citizens or legal residents living or claiming residency in one of the 50 United States, Washington, D.C. or Puerto Rico, be current high school seniors who plan to enroll full-time in an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the United States for the entire 2016-2017 academic year, and demonstrate ambition and self-drive as evidenced by outstanding achievement in school, community or work-related activities. The Gifford Youth Achievement Center (GYAC) is now offering vocational scholarships to adults who live in Indian River County who are pursuing vocational training. For more information on how to apply, view the application.  

Clay Ford Minority Scholarship for 5th Year Accounting Students: To encourage students to remain in school for the fifth year required to obtain a CPA license, a fifth-year minority scholarship program has been established, setting aside $200,000 per year in scholarships. Perfect Plants Nursery Scholarship: Applicants must be an incoming freshman, sophomore, junior or senior enrolled full or part time into a course of study at a community/state college or university leading to a career in the horticultural industry. Nurse.org Healthcare Leaders Scholarship has an annual application with a deadline of January 29.  Applicants must be 17 or over with a 3.0+ GPA, and enrolled or accepted to a nursing or healthcare-related program to be eligible. The Lions Club of Sebastian is awarding a $1,500 scholarship to a student pursuing a degree who has already completed one or more years of college.   The student or parent must be a resident of Sebastian.The application can be downloaded at:http://e-clubhouse.org/userfiles/8748/file/Scholarshipcollege.pdf. The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Transfer Scholarship is for sophomores planning to enroll in a baccalaureate program next year. Eligible applicants must demonstrate the potential to make a significant contribution to a field of study and/or society. Students must also have a 3.5 or higher GPA, and significant unmet financial need. This competitive scholarship award can total up to $30,000 annually! P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization) Florida has scholarships/projects for women to pursue a higher education degree.  If interested in reading about the six projects, please go to peoflorida.org and click on P.E.O. International and then click on P.E.O. Projects/Philanthropies.

A description of each project is given.  If you want further information about a project, click on “information card” for the project you seek and complete the required information.  This form will be sent to our chapter P.E.O.
