Areas of Support

GIVING PRIORITIES

Indian River State College is committed to providing the best educational foundation for students as they prepare for their life experiences beyond graduation.

For that reason, IRSC must continuously raise private funds to:

  • Expand and improve academic programs
  • Increase the number of student scholarships and faculty chairs
  • Add critical facilities and equipment

Each priority is essential for the success of IRSC. An investment in IRSC is an investment in higher education – the foundation for the nation’s political and economic success. Communities that support higher education flourish, and every dollar that you invest in IRSC is a dollar invested in our community.

Scholarship Support

41% of students planning to attend IRSC need financial support to meet their educational goals. The IRSC Foundation works closely with IRSC’s Financial Aid Office to divide available support among needy students. You can help by establishing a scholarship or supporting an existing scholarship.

Economically-disadvantaged young people face many obstacles as they move through middle and high school. Many do not foresee a future that includes college. The Take Stock in Children Scholarship Program provides the financial and emotional resources needed by these students in order to graduate from college. Program recipients are selected in middle school and monitored throughout high school to ensure they will be prepared for college. Mentors and program staff provide encouragement and resources, with the promise of a four-year tuition scholarship for those who remain in school and out of trouble. You can provide a four-year college scholarship to a deserving student for as little as $8,000 through this innovative program.
